Teacher

Ann knew she wanted to teach at the age of 8 and she has maintained a thriving studio for over 35 years. Ann does not “teach the violin”, she teaches children and their parents. Learning to play the violin excellently is definitely a wonderful benefit, but the primary goals of study are to develop a sensitivity to others, the ability to listen deeply, the confidence that grows through persistence and mastery and the freedom to self express. This is possible when there is a deep belief in the abilities of all children and when the teacher and parent work together to support a daily nurturing environment.

Trainer

Ann became a Suzuki Teacher Trainer in 2007.  Since that time she has enjoyed sharing every Suzuki violin unit level as well as Every Child Can, Teaching Strategies and Practicum throughout South, Central and North America.  Ann offers training through summer institutes in the United States and occasionally offers individual courses during the year both online and in person. Whatever the course level the goal is to share our collective experience and support each teacher so we are all stronger than when we began the course!

Clinician

Ann has been a guest clinician at over 100 festivals and weekend workshops all over the world. From pre twinkle level through the end of Book 10 and beyond, Ann enjoys working with parents/practice partners and students at every stage and age. Whatever the medium; parents talks, masterclasses, group lessons, chamber music or technique class, Ann is flexible and inspired to share all ways to make the music learning easier for teachers, parents and students.
